My motivations:
For those who don't know, I used to work at CHEO 12 years ago, but then my career path took me elsewhere. I decided to come back to CHEO last February as I decided it would be a spot for me to make a real difference. Working at CHEO for several years, I get to know the hospital's direct impact on the kids who come there, and it's magical, which is why I'm extra excited to participate this year in the 24hr marathon.
We are only a small team of four this year, so we will work extra hard to get as many laps in as possible. We four will most likely try to go the distance, and each of us will ride for 6 hours straight before handing off the transponder to the next guy. It will be challenging, primarily through the night, but it will all be worth it.
During the 24hrs I will be tracking myself to see what kind of data I can collect. When you donate, leave a comment on these predictions.
How many laps can I do?
How many total KM will I cover?
What will be my max speed? Hint, last event, my max was 86km/hr
What will be my avg speed?
How many litres of hot chocolate will I need to get through 24hrs of snowboarding?
I will post photos throughout the event on my Instagram page so everyone can follow along: https://www.instagram.com/stompy_wax/
