My motivations:
I decided to get involved in the Tremblant 24 Hours of Skiing because I wanted to support the efforts of the Ottawa Senators Foundation. Their goal is to improve the physical and mental well being of kids in Ottawa, giving them the opportunity to be active, engaged, and to feel good about themselves. What could be more important than that?
Some of the efforts the Senators Foundation support include:
-The commitment to build 20 new skating rinks in Ottawa
-A no-fee competitive sports league that spans 4 sports and includes 880 kids from 18 different neighbourhoods in the city.
-Many education bursaries at local university and community colleges.
-Supporting the Do It For Daron Fund, which raises awareness and conversation for youth mental health issues
-Supporting the operating costs of Roger's House at CHEO, a paediatric respite and palliative care home dedicated to enhancing the comfort and quality of life of children and families in a time of need.
In addition to the Senators Foundation, the Tremblant 24h also supports several other charities, all of whom's mission is to help children in need. The Tremblant 24h has made a huge difference in the lives of sick, underprivileged or special-needs children for years through the financial support of four foundations: The Fondation Centre de cancérologie Charles-Bruneau, the Ottawa Senators Foundation, the Martin-Matte Foundation and the Tremblant Foundation. Directly or indirectly, we are all affected by the plight of children. It is so satisfying and inspiring to know that our efforts translate into real changes in their lives. None of this would have been possible without the kindness of thousands of donors. And that’s why I am asking for your support, and appealing to your generosity, to give to this deserving cause.
