Mes motivations:
Our little Zoë was born on July 9, 2017 with a congenital heart defect known as AVSD (atrioventricular septal defect) that required open heart surgery to repair at the tender age of four months.
From the time we learned about her AVSD (22 weeks in utero) right through to present day, the team at the Montreal Children's Hospital has and continues to provide Zoë (and her family) with the utmost level of care and support imaginable.
Following Zoë's surgery, she spent several days in the PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) which is the most advanced, highest level of care facility within the hospital. The hard working staff and state-of-the-art equipment helped nurse Zoë back to health and get her home happy and healthy!
Again, in May of 2020, months before her third birthday, Zoë underwent an other open heart surgery and again spent several days in the PICU (all in the middle of a pandemic) where she was cared for to the highest standard.
While we hope that no one ever requires the services of the PICU and other critital care units, we must accept the reality that many children do. By raising much needed funds for this these hospitals and their facilities, we can help to ensure that other families can benefit from the same level of service and support as we did so that their children may be afforded the best possible care and comfort.
Now a feisty seven year old, Zoë's energy, enthusiasm and NON STOP everything are a testament to the great care and work provided by the her medical teams.
